Acceptable use

Lorraine products are clinical decision support and educational tools. They are designed to assist licensed clinicians and supervised healthcare trainees; they are not registered medical devices and must not be used as the sole basis for any clinical decision.

Clinicians remain responsible for clinical judgement, diagnosis, treatment, and all patient-care decisions. Do not rely on Lorraine for emergency care, time-critical triage, or life-support decisions.

You may not use Lorraine products to:

• Generate, facilitate, or distribute content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, or discriminatory.
• Attempt to bypass clinical guardrails or extract patient identifying information from output.
• Input personally-identifying patient information without a lawful basis and authority to do so under POPIA.
• Train competing models on Lorraine API outputs or use the API to build a derivative clinical AI product without written permission.
• Misrepresent Lorraine output as a diagnosis, prescription, or clinical order.
• Probe, scan, disrupt, or attempt unauthorised access to Lorraine infrastructure; or circumvent rate limits and authentication.
• Automate abusive volume against the API; scrape material quantities of content; or resell access in a manner prohibited by your subscription.

If you encounter a clinically unsafe output, a suspected vulnerability, or behaviour that may harm patients or users, report it to safety@uselorraine.co.za. We triage reports promptly, and we will not pursue action against good-faith clinician safety reports.

Security researchers: we welcome coordinated disclosure. Mail security@uselorraine.co.za. Please provide reproduction steps; do not access accounts or data that are not yours.

We may suspend or terminate access to Lorraine products for violations of this AUP, with or without notice depending on severity. For contested suspensions, contact legal@uselorraine.co.za.
