CPD tracking, built in

Every registered clinician in South Africa has to accumulate CPD each year, including a mandatory ethics component. Most earn it at lunchtime talks and log it on paper — then scramble at the end of the cycle when the audit lands. Our starting point was simpler: the reading and reasoning you already do should at least leave a record.

What gets recorded

Chat keeps a structured record of every reasoned clinical query — a differential, a guideline lookup, a drug interaction check. The record holds the clinical question, the sources cited, and the time spent. Throwaway admin queries are not recorded; the point of the log is the reasoning, not the keystrokes.

What the record does not do

This is a record, not an accreditation. Lorraine may track eligible learning activity for CPD-related records while approval or accreditation is pending. Tracking does not guarantee that any professional body, employer, regulator, or accreditor will recognise the activity as CPD, and we do not award points. A running tally sits in your account and you can export it; what any given body accepts is between you and that body.

Why we built this in

We considered a separate CPD product. We decided the better answer was to ship it inside Chat: the reasoning is the evidence, and the clinician does not need to remember to log anything. The best CPD tool is the one that disappears into the work.
